RAY AMUNEKE FOUNDATION 2014 CHRISTMAS CHILDREN FUNFARE.
In advancing the cause of learning and academic discipline through the award of scholarships and grants on our young ones, orphans, vulnerable children and the less privileged into the season of celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we hope you will support and join us as we facilitate this year’s Annual Late Ray Amuneke Foundation Christmas Children Fun fare Celebration coming up on Thursday 25th day of December 2014 at The Heroes Recreation Park Opposite Concord Hotel Owerri, Imo State by 11am.
The event will give you the opportunity to interact with the kids, show them love and support. Your support to us to them will be in form of (books and writing materials, school bags, funds for school fees).

THE TIMES AND LIFE OF LATE MR RAYMOND OKECHUKWU AMUNEKE (JP) FROM AUGUST 16 1942 – JAN 15 2013
Sincerely,
it is a big challenge to write about someone who is close and means a lot to
you. Nevertheless, I am compelled at this time to testify the life my father
lived.
Mr.
Raymond Okechukwu Amuneke (JP) was born on 16th August, 1942 to the family of
late Mr. & Mrs. Johnson Amuneke in Umuanu kindred, Umuonyeche village in Owerri municipal council. His father had burning desire to
train his children in school, so Ray as he was fondly called was admitted into
Christ Church School Owerri (1951 -1956), being very brilliant, he proceeded to
Federal Teaching College Okpala (1957). Bishop Lasbrey College Irete (1964-1970), Then to University of Nigeria Nsukka (1982-1983, 1989-1993) where he had his First and
Master’s degree on Guidance and Counseling. Sir Ray as a teacher taught in
several places like

Uzii Layout primary
School Owerri & Umudibia primary school Nekede (1971-1980) as class room teacher
(2)
Urban school 1 Owerri and Samuel Njemanze primary school Owerri (1989-1998) as Headmaster 1 & 2.
As
an Administrator, he worked In Owerri Local Government Education Authority (1989-1998) as
principal supervisor of schools and the Assistant chief personnel officer,
Educational Secretary of Owerri municipal council from (1999-2003) and In SUBEB as a
Deputy Director in charge of planning and statistics from 2002 till his
retirement.
Being so sociable,
Sir Ray offered to serve humanity in several offices.

Sir Ray lived a
selfless and humorous life, this can be testified by his relations and all that
came in contact with him.
Married to Mrs. Chinyere Amuneke, their union was
blessed with wonderful children. I know Sir Ray would be very surprised and
honored to see so many of us here for him. I love him and miss him as am sure
we all do.
Sir Ray, a man of
peace, you have fought and you have conquered therefore laa Na udo, Sir Ray,
NAA..NAA!! It is well with your soul.

Ray Amuneke Foundation
The
Ray Amuneke Foundation (RAF) is an autonomous entity that is not affiliated to
any interest group, political party or movement or to any religious
organization or society.
The Foundation was established in his honor in 2014
with the aim of building on that legacy and giving further development to his ideas. Essentially it is a people- oriented organization that is focused on a broad range of human development issues.

To this end, the Foundation is committed to
specifically:
1. Critique, elucidate and disseminate the universal teachings and principles adopted by Late Raymond Amuneke (JP) as an “Approach to Existence",
2. Propagate truth, honesty, integrity and discipline as intrinsic aspects of a democratic society;
3. Stimulate and sponsor research on a broad range of issues aimed at spiritual upliftment, poverty alleviation, harnessing human resources (creating employment) and promoting democratic governance, social justice, individual and press freedom, independence of the rule of law;
5. Create a congenial forum period healthy interaction and exchange of views between diverse religious and other philosophical schools of thought concerned with man's spiritual well- being as a mean of promoting peace, tolerance and understanding among adherents of different faith, schools of thoughts and various ethnic groups within the country.
6. Advance the cause of learning, research and creativity in diverse academic discipline and other spheres of knowledge, vocation and occupation through the award of scholarships and grants and the endowment of professional chairs;
7. Provide financial and other support for the less privileged and helpless especially in the areas of nutrition, Medicare (HIV/AIDS) .
8. Enhance poverty alleviation through the encouragement of economic self- reliance efforts and women empowerment initiatives;
9. Enhance and promote the arts as a means of preserving and holding our cultural heritage and harnessing creative talents;
